Greetings, and welcome to my new blog! While I have experimented with blogging before, this is the first time I am focusing specifically on family activities and adventures. It's been a while since I've kept a blog...I haven't done any online journaling since my last trip to Spain. This probably won't come as a surprise to any of my friends or family members, since anyone who knows me is well aware that I love to travel. The pandemic has obviously put a damper on just about everyone's big travel plans, so my family and I have used this as an opportunity to get to know our more immediate surroundings a whole lot better. A few weeks ago, I published a social media post about a recent weekend getaway. A friend sent me a message complimenting my drive for finding interesting family-friendly places to visit, and she jokingly suggested that I write a book about local travel tips. Writing a book definitely isn't in the cards right now, but her very kind words got me thinking: wouldn't it be fun to journal about some of the fun places we visit in and around our home state of Virginia? Thus, this blog was born. I am hoping to chronicle some of our recent family travels in the Old Dominion, as well as occasionally reminisce about past trips. I also plan on including some of our favorite local spots and activities here in the Northern VA area. Let's see how long I can keep this up!
